Baby Log for Nanny and Caregiver Handoffs

Published:

Estrelu gives you a baby log for nanny and caregiver handoffs. In one tap, it builds a short text with the last feed, how long your baby has been awake, a gentle wake-up time and the next sleep window. You send it through any messaging app. It runs in your browser, works offline, and has no ads.

The Handover screen in Estrelu: a summary for a partner or nanny

The handoff at the door

You're putting on your coat, your partner or the sitter is taking the baby, and you're trying to remember when the last bottle was and whether a nap is coming. Half of it gets lost. With Estrelu, you tap "Share the summary" and the next person gets everything in a message they can scroll back to all day.

How the caregiver handoff works

  1. Open "Handoff." Estrelu builds the "Handoff summary" from your log: last feed, time awake right now, total awake time today, "wake gently around" and the next sleep window.
  2. Tap "Share the summary." It goes out as plain text through your phone's share menu.
  3. Pick any messenger. Text, WhatsApp, email or whatever your family uses. The person receiving it doesn't need to install anything.
  4. Invite regular helpers. Once family accounts launch, a partner, grandparent or nanny can join with a one-time invite code. You choose the role: parent or nanny.

What it's based on and what it doesn't do

The summary is built from what you and your family log. The next sleep window comes from the same forecast that powers the baby sleep tracker. It starts from age-based wake windows and adjusts to your baby after a few days. It's shown as a range, because babies don't run on the minute.

What Estrelu does not do:

  • It does not replace your own instructions on allergies, medicine or emergencies. Keep those in the "Emergency card," which holds allergies, phone numbers and emergency details.
  • It does not monitor or track the caregiver.
  • It does not connect to baby monitors or cameras.

Logins with a one-time email code and family invites are planned for launch. Until then, the "Handoff summary" works for anyone you send it to. If your nanny cares for more than one child, see how Estrelu handles twins and siblings. For quick feeding entries, see the baby feeding tracker.

Who the handoff is for

  • A partner coming home from work. They see where the day stands before they walk in the door.
  • A grandparent babysitting for the afternoon. They get the facts in a regular text message, with no new app to learn.
  • A nanny on a regular schedule. Once family accounts launch, they can log feeds, naps and diapers themselves under the nanny role.
  • You, at the end of a night shift. Hand the morning to your partner with one message and go back to bed.

How to start

  1. Open Estrelu in your phone browser. You don't need the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Enter your email and the code we send you. There is no password.
  3. Add Estrelu to your home screen: on Android tap "Install", on iPhone tap "Share" and "Add to Home Screen".

After the first visit the app works offline.
