Huckleberry alternative: an honest comparison

Published:

Huckleberry is a strong sleep app, but its nap predictions sit behind a paid plan and the app is English-only. If you want an alternative, Nara Baby, Baby Tracker and Estrelu each solve a different problem. Estrelu is a web-based tracker that runs in your browser, works offline, has no ads and shows the next nap as a range.

How we compared

The Estrelu team wrote this page. We make one of the apps in it, so we only used facts you can check yourself: official websites, help centers, and App Store and Google Play listings. We checked everything on 04.10.2026. Store prices change, so confirm them in your own store before you pay.

We looked at:

  • which platforms each app runs on;
  • what you get for free and what a subscription costs;
  • whether there are ads;
  • whether you can export your logs as CSV;
  • whether a partner, grandparent or nanny can log too;
  • which interface languages are available.

Where we couldn't confirm a fact on an official page, the table says "no data".

Prices: US App Store on 04.10.2026, except Nara Baby, which comes from the Nara FAQ on the same date. The App Store also lists other Nara price points ($6.99–$9.99 monthly, $49.99–$99.99 lifetime), so the price you see may differ.

Huckleberry

Good fit for: parents who want SweetSpot nap predictions, expert sleep plans or an AI chat, and who are happy in English.

Pros. The free plan covers a lot: one-tap logging for sleep, diapers, feeds, pumping, growth and medicine, sleep summaries, multiple children, and sync across caregivers (App Store). There are widgets and an Apple Watch app. You can export everything as CSV (Huckleberry Help Center).

Honest downside. The app is English-only, as the Help Center confirms. SweetSpot, the schedule creator and insights need Plus; Berry and custom sleep plans need Premium. The Help Center lists iOS and Android only, with no web version.

Price. Plus: $11.99 a month or $58.99 a year. Premium: $14.99 a month or $119.99 a year. Sleep Improvement Plan: $49.99. The official pricing page shows annual plans as $5.74 and $9.99 a month.

Nara Baby

Good fit for: families who want a clean tracker with no ads, one price for every caregiver, and a lifetime option.

Pros. No ads and no extra premium tiers. One payment covers partners, grandparents and sitters, with unlimited children. You can export your data as CSV from the child's profile (Nara FAQ). It runs on iOS and Android, with Apple Watch and Siri support.

Honest downside. Nara is no longer free. After the 7-day trial you can still view and export what you logged, but you can't add new entries without a plan (Nara FAQ). We found no nap prediction feature on the official pages.

Price. $9.99 a month or $99.99 one-time for lifetime access (Nara FAQ, 04.10.2026).

Baby Tracker (Nighp)

Good fit for: parents who want a long-running, free logging app and don't mind ads, or who will pay once to remove them.

Pros. Core logging is free: feeds, pumping, sleep, diapers, growth, medicine and vaccines. Records sync across devices and caregivers. It's available in 14 languages (App Store). The "What's Next" feature uses on-device AI to suggest likely sleep and feed times.

Honest downside. The free version has ads. CSV export, backup, multi-device sync on iOS and PDF reports are part of the paid full version, according to the Baby Tracker FAQ.

Price. Remove Ads $4.99 one-time; Plus $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year (US App Store, 04.10.2026).

Estrelu

Good fit for: parents who want fast night logging, a nap forecast they can understand, and a tracker that works without an app store.

Pros. Estrelu opens in your phone's browser and installs to your home screen without the App Store or Google Play. After the first open it works offline: logging, the forecast, the night screen and white noise. The next nap shows as a range with a confidence level, and one tap explains how it was built. At night you get a dark screen and swipes: up for sleep, left for bottle, right for breast, down for diaper. A handoff summary goes to your partner or nanny as plain text in any messenger. No ads, no third-party trackers, CSV and JSON export. Four languages: English, Russian, Portuguese and Spanish.

Honest downside. There's no App Store or Google Play app, so no widgets and no watch app. There are no experts, no AI assistant and no sleep courses. There's no free plan: after the 5-day trial, access pauses until you pay, though your logs stay and you can export them. Estrelu is new, so it has no reviews or track record yet.

Price. $4.99 a month, $44.99 a year (about $3.75 a month) or $79 once. Every plan includes every feature, for the whole family and up to 4 children. No card needed for the trial.

When Estrelu isn't the right fit

  • You want an app from the App Store or Google Play, with widgets or an Apple Watch app. Huckleberry, Nara Baby and Baby Tracker all have one.
  • You want to ask an expert or an AI chat inside the app. Huckleberry Premium offers that.
  • You want to track for free long term. Huckleberry and Baby Tracker both have free plans.
  • You'd rather trust an app with years of history and many reviews. Estrelu is just launching.

How to move your logs to Estrelu

Estrelu imports CSV files. It recognizes column names in four languages, and importing the same file twice won't create duplicates. We can't promise a perfect match with every app's format, so look over a couple of days of entries after the import.

From Huckleberry. Tap the child profile icon, scroll down and tap "Export tracking data as CSV". Huckleberry emails you a download link that works for 24 hours. Each child has a separate file (Help Center).

From Nara Baby. On the main Activity screen, tap the avatar next to your child's name, then tap Export Data. This saves a CSV file (Nara FAQ).

From Baby Tracker. CSV export is part of the paid full version (FAQ). If you have the full version, export the CSV and import it into Estrelu.

Estrelu is not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose, calculate medicine doses or replace your doctor. If you're worried about your baby's sleep, feeding or health, talk to your pediatrician.
